Mulched

I stopped by a landscaping place yesterday to see about getting some sand. The garden path in my back yard has slowly sunk into the ground and I want to lift out the stones and put sand under them. I was talking with the guy about whether or not a yard of sand would fit in my truck and whether or not it would destroy the suspension, when I also mentioned I wanted to have them deliver some mulch. I was thinking of doing it Saturday morning, because then the bank would be closed and the truck could just dump the mulch in the parking lot. The guy I was talking to said they could just deliver it late in the day. Right away! Ack! I wasn’t quite ready, but it seems like I’m always putting stuff off because I’m not quite ready. I have several not-quite-finished home projects as evidence.

So I had them deliver the mulch. And I spent yesterday evening spreading it in the garden. It looks good… though my picture doesn’t really show it. I should have taken more pictures, but I was tired. But now my garden is mulched. And now I can start thinking about putting sand under the stone path….

Fresh mulch is like new carpet.

Wow! It really does look like new carpet! Does your garden have that new-mulch smell?

Let me know how it goes with the pavers. We are having the same problem at school and I’m pretty sure it is not something that I want to do.

The mulch does not have that smell. It seems to be lower quality than I remember. It had bits of plastic bags and stuff ground up in it. I think they might have sold me the free mulch you can get from the Baltimore County dump.

Holy cow….that’s alot of work in one evening! Probably better you did it last night rather than Saturday when the fires of Hades arrive.

(and Hehe….sold you the free mulch from the County. Wait. That’s ingenius. Hmmm…)
