I went to Lincoln yesterday with Harold, Beth, Lloyd, and Lauren. It was fun. Each person seemed to have a store they needed or wanted to visit. The rest of us browsed while they accomplished their task. I wanted to go to a book store to get a book about backpacking. Brady has asked me if I want to accompany him and a neighbor on a multi-day hike. It sounds awesome to me, but I don’t have any experience, so I wanted a book. I found one!
While we were driving around, the car’s air conditioner stopped working. We were a little concerned. It was HOT yesterday. We stopped at Home Depot because Harold was looking at lawn mowers and Beth was getting some houseplants. While Harold and Lloyd looked at mowers, the rest of us sat on the patio furniture display and cooled off.
We ended our time in Lincoln by joining my parents for some wine slushies at the James Arthur vineyard. They were delicious! But I drank them too fast. If it was wine, I’d go slow. But a slushie? You’ve got to drink that fast or it will melt.
It was/is soooo hot. My prayer for you today, aside from not crashing, is that you don’t have a delay before takeoff that requires you to sit on a hot plane.
We’re going to miss you around here, Brad, and not just because I want to read that backpacking book from cover to cover. 🙂
Will you be buying a walking stick for your hiking travels?
It’s funny that you mention walking sticks. I have always wanted to have an excuse to use one. The book says many hikers use them. I wouldn’t have to buy one though. When I cut my cherry tree down last summer, I saved a lot of straight branches that would make great walking sticks. I’ll have to ask the Internet what it thinks makes a good diameter and length.
