Broken Blooms

My false yucca plant’s bloom spike has been broken. Again. From the brown color of the broken stem, it looks like it happened a couple of days ago. I plant these things so people walking by on the sidewalk can enjoy them. When somebody wrecks the flowers, then no one can enjoy them. 🙁
Dang.

What makes it even worse is that the person who broke the flowers off didn’t take them. Instead of being motivated by some misguided wish to take flowers that didn’t belong to them and give them to a loved one, the person appears to have done this just for the heck of it.
An ignominious end to such unusual beauty.

There isn’t enough time for the bloom spike to recover before the cold weather comes, so that’s it for hesperaloe parviflora flowers this year.

…murderers! There oughta be a law…….I am sad for you….

…but great use of a vocab word that doesn’t get much exercise these days: ignominious. See how often and in what other contexts you can use it today – own it!

Grrrrrrr!!!! Don’t they make those automatic sprinklers that go off when an animal gets in your yard? Let’s get one of those for yard vandals, but make it shoot acid.

    ….stupid yard vandals…..

    Well dang! That stinks.

Is it possible that someone thought it was like a lone weed shooting up behind your lavender and broke it off for you? Sometimes when one thing juts out so much taller than the other stuff, could it be confused with something that shouldn’t be there?

I always cut the stuff that shoots out of my hostas. I don’t care for the look.

But the false yucca is awesome looking! I don’t know why someone would break it off….they’re either a jerk or they thought it was growing there when it should not have been.
