A Deep Breath

I left pretty quickly after school yesterday. I will be spending all of Monday working at school since we have Presidents Day off. That means I didn’t even try to work after school. I just cleaned up a little, packed up, and left.

Because of my early departure, my trip home was in the daylight. I like the stretch of highway between Kahului and Kihei. It’s lined on both sides with sugarcane fields. They look a lot like corn. That would make sense, since they are both kinds of grass. Anyway, it reminds me of Nebraska, and I smile when I look at it.
I need to learn more about sugarcane cultivation.

When I got home, I had a snack, laid on my living room floor, and took a nap. It was glorious. I spent the evening eating pizza and watching Sherlock Holmes. It was also glorious.
The breeze from the outside was cool.

[Is the Sherlock Holmes in question the current one? Thurman and I DVR that show (on past our bedtimes, too) and watch it when we can. That guy is proof of how close insanity is to genious…]

What an excellent quiz or test question: “Hawaii islike Nebraska because…”. I fear I would come up empty but you’ve already made a connection. Nicely done!

Lloyd and I watched ‘Looper’ last weekend and he kept commenting on how strange those corn plants were, then the heroine talked about ‘the cane’ and it all made sense.

Good for you for getting home at a reasonable time! I applaud your napping!

An excellent Friday! Just perfect!! Enjoy your weekend! I wish I had Monday off.

(I don’t know why, but occasional my food store sells stalks of raw sugar cane. Once a young couple was arguing over it. The guy thought it was so cool & wanted to get it and the girl just kept asking “But what are we going to do with it?” “I don’t know, but we’ll figure something out.” I hope they got it.)
