Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Warm

It’s been pretty warm in Kihei lately. My apartment doesn’t have air conditioning. It gets cool at night, so with fans running, I can pull cool air into the bedroom in time for sleep, but in the evening it can be a little warm in my apartment. Cold drinks and ceiling fans can help, but I do like going into my bedroom. It’s so much cooler.

If I were staying here for the months of September and October, I might have to get an air conditioner. I hear it gets pretty hot in Kihei then.

My cool retreat.

My cool retreat.

Wait…an apartment complex on a tropical island with units lacking central A/C?! That’s just not right.

Will be thinking of you today: US picnic and MS movie afternoon. At least one of our rooms will be showing Lilo and Stitch.

Amen to having fans running. Lloyd and I have been opening windows at night and closing them during the day, but we can’t open the windows very much or the pudgy cats will push the screens out and escape. (Not willful pushing, just lean against them with their great mass.) It hasn’t been the best set up.

As much as I like air-conditioning, there’s really nothing that compares to fresh, cool air from outside! Happy sleeping!

For when you’re in the living room, you could try one of these. I have one & it really does work. It stays cool for hours! And feels great on your face & neck.

Hi Abbey. It’s a little late to plan a visit. I won’t be here much longer. I hope you have a great summer anyway! 🙂
