Yesterday it was a little warmer during the day. I had just come back from church, and was waiting to go to work, when I noticed the bird feeder was empty. While putting seeds in the feeder, I was overwhelmed by a powerfully sweet scent. Then I remembered I was standing right next to my osmanthus heterophyllus. It’s in full bloom, and boy does it smell good. It would fit in well with Maui flowers.
I wasn’t the only one who noticed the sweet-smelling flowers. The bush was covered with honey bees.
I gave the message at church yesterday. HERE it is. I’ll go again next Sunday as well. I’m glad. I really enjoy it.
My computer is moving slowly, so your message hasn’t opened yet. I’m looking forward to reading it.
How wonderful that your garden is still blooming and that bees haven’t totally died due to cell phone signals or whatever! Today our high temperature will be 39. Welcome, winter.
“Woman of Valour” (British spelling) here – and she acknowledges the power and wisdom in your message from Sunday. (We had a Scripture and song Sunday at Holy Cross so I was not aware of the appointed lessons – glad to read your sermon then.)
[So seriously…any thought to making the Sunday morning gig more permanent? You’re a natural, I’m tellin’ ya’!]
