The Opposite of Touchless

I needed to get some gas, so I went to the station across the street from my house. The sign on the pump said that if I bought a car wash, I would get 10 cents off per gallon of gas. I’ve driven through a lot of salt lately, so I decided to do it.

The car wash was not touchless. It was one that had the spinny roller things that run back and forth over the sides and top of your car. It did an amazing job! The touchless ones always leave stuff, but the spinny things really cleaned my truck. I think I’ll be doing this a lot more often.

I got the deluxe package.

I got the deluxe package.

Hmmm…not too cold for the water at the car wash – now did your locks freeze overnight as a result? My poor blue Forester is looking grungy as well, but until we hit at least 33 degrees out, we’ll continue to carry the dirt around with us for fear I’ll seal all the doors shut until spring thaw.

I don’t think my doors froze shut. I will have to try them today though, since I’ll be going in to work in a couple of hours.

I love those things because it’s like getting eaten by a giant monster, only in complete safety. (Much like little kids and their love of dinosaurs.)

Our little guy talks incessantly about car washes. I’ve been tempted to go through one with him, but I’m like Carol… worried about freezing our doors shut.

So did you get an extra cent or two off for choosing the deluxe package?

No, but I got some rainbow-colored foam sprayed on my truck at the end of the wash. I could even smell it from the inside of my truck. I think it was magical pixie soap or something. It did not make my truck fly though.
