Fog Generator

We’ve had some interesting weather the last couple of days. We had a bunch of snow last week, then it’s been alternating between warm and cold. Wednesday was warm. Yesterday started warm, but a cold front moved in. When warm and cold clash, there is often precipitation. That was true yesterday. There were some pretty serious downpours.

But the coolest thing was after the rain. The air was soaked with water. The ground was warm, but there was still snow on the ground, and the snow was cold. It made fog. Anywhere there was snow, fog was forming. It was really cool looking.

I was driving to work when I saw the fog, so I couldn’t get a very good picture. This is the best I could get. It was fog rolling off a snow-covered playing field.

There was such a clear line between the fog and the clear air.

I agree! What a teachable-science-lesson-type moment there, eh? Can’t remember ever seeing mid-day fog that thick before either. Bet somewhere there is a movie director coveting our weather the other day for his/her next horror film…except for the part where the sun was still shining…

That. Is. INCREDIBLE. Why didn’t someone make a science fiction movie yesterday?
