Fumble Recovery

Happy Birthday to my niece Anna! Woo hoo!

By the time I leave school in the afternoon, I’m usually pretty hungry, and the drive home is long. Sometimes I stop at the grocery store for a snack. Yesterday, I already had a candy bar that I had brought from home, so I ate that on the way back.

It was a Twix bar. I eat Twix small bites at a time, and when I was down to the last piece, it fell out of my hand and on to the floor. I was not going to give up that food, so I picked it up, blew on it, and popped it in my mouth. It was sweet, sweet deliciousness. Until I crunched down on a piece of sand. By then it was too late to do anything about it. I just swallowed it all.

I really should vacuum sometime.

I really should vacuum sometime.

“God made dirt and dirt don’t hurt.” I would have done same in your place – unless it was melty. Then all bets are off. 😉

    Happy birthday, Anna!

You made me smile with the knowledge that I am not the only one who has attempted a rescue from the floor of an automobile. My rescues are often the final bite of a breakfast sandwich. Since I have actually been known to vacuum my car mats, I have not ingested any unknown or inorganic matter in the process…yet…stay tuned.

Well done, brother. I would have done the same, except I don’t tend to blow on my dirty sandy food. I wipe it on my sleeve.
