Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Rusty Fingers

I’m off of school today. I intend to be doing schoolwork all day long, so I didn’t do any work yesterday. After doing the message for Sunday service (HERE it is for the archive), it was a day at home.

Yesterday I did something I haven’t done for a long time: I played the piano. I paged through the childrens song book and just played. It was fun. I miss playing piano for chapel. Maybe I’ll just play at home more often, and that will help give me my piano fix. It certainly was fun enough yesterday.

One fifty-five is my favorite song in the whole book.

    1. Your opening to this week’s message is an awesome one to drive home this point with, say, 8th graders, too. They would eat up the scene, no? (Filing this illustration away for later use myself, in fact.) Once a middle school teacher…

    2. So glad to read that you get pleasure out of piano playing in leisure time at home again. Still sad for you that you are not regularly involved in worship prep/leading at your new school, but very glad to know you are still sharing Law and Gospel so eloquently with the good people of Rossville. Well done!

    3. I believe it would be “It was they who…” not “It was them…” – sorry; grammar Nazi.

Hehe… I’m always glad to get grammar corrections. It’s funny it would come up on a post about piano playing. My college piano teacher corrected my grammar all the time.

That was a great message, Brad. Carol is right – it’s a great visual for salvation! I’ll be thinking about that all day. (…and also humming that song.)
