I had a great birthday. I wore a bright and colorful tie to church, which people commented on, which gave me the opportunity to say it was my birthday, which led them to say “Happy Birthday”. I loved it!
Even Google knew it was my birthday and put a Google Doodle up just for me:
I spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching TV and surfing the internet. I was mostly on Reddit, but the last part of the evening I was on Facebook. I haven’t spent much time there, but last night I finally understood the allure. It was fun to swap comments and see likes from people I haven’t seen in a while.
Hooray!! I am so glad you got to sit around – that seems like the best present ever. Except for cash. Cash is good.
Did Google really do that? That seems sweet and creepy all at the same time. Oh, well. Happy Day After Your Birthday!
WOW! Google knows everything about us now – even our birthdays. Scary, but fun.
[Does Gandalf have his own Facebook account, too?]
On a somewhat serious note, our middle schoolers are supporting Kare-9 Military Ministry (Lutheran Church Charities Fund outreach to veterans and their families) and our dog, Flex, has his own Facebook page. This morning the kiddos sent Flex and his person a message of encouragement – I was proud of them…now I’ll be really impressed if I see photos of pups answering their own e-mail…
Whoops, I missed it. Happy Birthday, Brad!
