I worked in my basement yesterday. I was trying to empty out some boxes. I was indeed successful, but my ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures hardly look different. There is so much junk down there!
What I did get done took me a long time. So many decisions… keep? throw away? donate? On top of that, I kept taking pictures of things and texting them to people.
I successfully got rid of a lot of stuff, but there were a few things I couldn’t part with. Among the keepers were autographed pictures of LeVar Burton and Hulk Hogan. I got them at my school’s auction in Seattle, and have kept them all these years. After investing so much time, it’s hard to let them go. Plus, it seems like they may be valuable or something.
I can take LeVar to hang on the wall at school. Hulk Hogan will have to go back into a box, considering the stuff that’s been on the news lately. Actually, LeVar might go back into a box too. I don’t want the photo to get damaged.

The most exciting find of the day is a treasure from my childhood. It’s a completely intact Mighty Men & Monster Maker set. I have all the plates. I even still have some of the black scrapey thing left. I bet there are people out there who would pay a pretty penny for it. But it’s not for sale. It is mine.
There was a girl version with dresses, but it was nowhere near as cool.
I think you’re sitting on your retirement fund with those. Someone in the distant future will pay a pretty penny for those paper selfies and retro-toys. (“Can you believe they used to play with non-digital things in the old days? You have to use your hands!”)
I did not know you were psychic. Hulk Hogan and LeVar Burton, younger Brad linked through time and space Hogan and Kunta Kinte / Toby from Roots. If you could have put them on the same picture with the autographs, you could retire on that cash.
