Yesterday was the first night back to choir practice. Actually, last week was, but I somehow missed it, so this was my first week back. As before, I stayed after school instead of going home, because the commute is too long to go home and come back again.
Last year, I always intended to do some work with the hours of time between school and choir, but I was always tired, so I rarely got much done. Last night, I didn’t even try. I chatted with my coworker Susan a little, then headed out for dinner.
I ate at Panera Bread. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten there… maybe since last choir season. It was good. I read while I ate. It’s a book I’ll be using to teach adult Bible class starting this Sunday. It’s about what the apostles did after the Bible record. It’s very interesting.
Before I went to Panera, I stopped next door at Pier 1. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there too. I used to go there all the time and see things I liked and would want to buy. For some reason, I stopped going. Walking around yesterday, I didn’t feel the same magic. I rarely buy stuff for my house any more. I’m just not into it like I used to be.
I had a turkey, cheddar, and apple sandwich.
I feel you about losing the ‘magic’ of shopping. Pier 1 used to be so great! Now…. I think it’s been a year since I’ve gone, and years before that. Someone once said, “You know you’re old when you look around your house and you only have nice furniture.” I don’t have nice furniture, but I’m done buying house stuff. Done.
I love pier one and always see something I want for the house, but don’t have enough house….or money. Lol your sandwich looks yummy! I like Panera when it works out but it’s a bit overwhelming trying to order…..Too much to read, I feel rushed, everyone is looking at you…..ah. I looked on line once so Mark and I could be prepared and know exactly what we want for the drive thru and they didn’t have those sandwiches! Uh! I love all their bagels tho!
