Birthday Party

Denis’ birthday party was yesterday. He had lots of friends over, and his friends have lots of kids. It was wonderful noisy fun.

Denis really wanted lechon for his birthday, so he got it himself. He also got other tasty Filipino foods. His guests brought even more delicious stuff. Yum!

Here’s the lechon. It is a young roasted pig. He got it from a place that cooks it Cebuano style (Cebu is the island his family is originally from).

Denis decided that putting strong-smelling lilies right next to food wasn’t such a good idea.

I should have taken some pictures of the crowd. It really was very fun. There seemed to be more English speaking last night. They explained that not all of them spoke the same dialect, and that they couldn’t really understand each other if they weren’t from the same region of the Philippines.
