Yesterday was the last day of classes. It went better than I expected. We finished “Karate Kid”, then I showed a couple of clips of the actors being interviewed later in their lives, then I offered an extra credit assignment that compared the movie with the book we just read.
I didn’t have to get fussy or angry with the kids all day. It was a nice end to the year.
After school, most of the staff went out for lunch. It was really nice. I keep saying to myself that I should make more time for stuff like that, and that I should organize and invite co-workers to get together. I think when co-workers can also be friends, the ministry becomes stronger and more effective.
Aw, I like your last thought. We are having some communication troubles at work, and it would be nice if we could all get together once in a while.
What a great way to end your year. 🙂 Was there fighting at the Irish pub? Singing?
Julian named one of his cats after this restaurant!!! (if it’s Ellicott City, off Route 40)
Ha! That’s awesome! Yes, it’s the same one. My school is just down the road from it.
The other teachers were telling me that the shops around this restaurant are very different now though… lots of things have closed or changed.
Your Dad’s philosophy was if the staff could play together, they could work more effectively together!
Brad, you know how right your “when co-workers can also be friends, the ministry becomes stronger and more effective” thought is – recall BLS middle back in the day. Now in Hawaii you’ll have the opportunity to foster that environment once again – many, many blessings on those efforts, dear friend.
