I finally have pictures of beautiful scenery to post! Woo hoo! I’ve been busy with school preparations (and sick) for the last few of weeks, so I haven’t taken any time to do some sort of nature thing. But finally yesterday, I went on a hike.
I went to the Kings Highway trail, also called Hoapili trail. It’s way south of Kihei, at the end of the road. In 2013, I went there many times. It was fun to go back.
There were of course beautiful views of the ocean:
I went farther than I ever did before, and was rewarded by some cool sights. The end point of the trail is a beach that the lava missed. It’s mostly white coral. It was cool:
The beach had many piles of stones on it. Some of them were artsy looking. One in particular looked like an unfinished igloo.
The stone igloo also had a “campfire” with red coral for the flames:
A little farther on was a view of Haleakala, and the trail the lava took as it ran down the mountain. It was really cool.
I think I was only hiking for two or three hours, but when I got home, I fell sound asleep. It was a nice, exhausted sleep. I think I will hike some more in the future.
Very nice! I’m glad you were able to do that.
Ahhhh…. soul restoring…..
I like those rock piles very much. If I ever visit you, we’ll have to make a rock design. 🙂
Thank you for sharing a travelogue of sorts of your hike. Now I feel I’ve been without expending any sweat equity 😉 . Lovely scenery – another reason to praise God daily for the marvels of creation, eh? Enjoy!
OH my goodness, I just have no words. Just a gasp.
