Simple Solution

I like to use dishwashing soap in my hand soap dispensers at home. It’s nice, because it has a nice scent, but it’s not overpowering. I find that most handsoaps linger, so that my hands reek of lavender or roses or whatever for hours after I wash them.

Unfortunately, dish soap tends to dry in the opening of the dispenser, causing unpredictable soap jets when it comes out. During my pumpkin carving party, one of my guests got shot in the shirt. How embarrassing!

Last night I came up with at least a partial solution: I turned the dispenser ninety degrees. This way, if the soap squirts too forcefully, it will just go on the counter. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner.

I wish I had a never-fail soap foamer recipe or I would pass that along. I like to refill the sink-side foamers with dish soap because it’s so cheap, but inevitably I get the ratios wrong and clog up the works.

    Your dispenser is lovely!
