On Sundays, I usually work at school most of the day. Yesterday was a little different.
A member of my church has been asking me to join him and some friends to play basketball. I have said ‘no’ many times now, but I feel like it’s important that I join him, so I’ve left the door open to be asked again.
Yesterday when I saw him, he said: “Be well!”
I said: “I will!”
He said: “Really? You’ll play today?”
(He had actually said ‘B-ball?’)
Since I sort of said yes, I just decided to go for it. So it would be a short day of work, then B-ball at 3pm.
Then after church, I was talking to another congregation member about planting some things on campus, and he said: “Hey, do you want to get some lunch?”
I said: “Sure!”
So I didn’t work at school at all yesterday. I hope to be up at 3am this morning. Hopefully I won’t be too sore from playing basketball.
It must have been some sort of a Jedi mind trick.
Wow! Good for you, Mr. Social! I think that was wise to do some fun stuff to refresh your soul, and I also hope that you aren’t sore today.
