An Unexpected Call

Local spam callers haven’t found me yet, so when an 808 number calls me, I usually answer it. Last night when I answered an 808, it was Walmart.

They were calling me to tell me my contact prescription will be expiring in about a week. If I want to order any more contacts without another eye exam, I should do it now.

I thought that was nice of them. I thanked the man on the phone. And I’ll be ordering some more contacts.

I order single-day contacts, but wear them more than a single day.

Yay for a non-annoying spam call!

We have the spam calls that come from local area codes. I guess the company purchases them and then uses them for evil? I never answer my phone.

I’m with Lauren – if you’re not already in my contact list, don’t expect me to dignify your number-punching with a call pick-up. Glad yours wasn’t about having won an all-expense paid trip to the Bahamas (“I already live in paradise, you numb noodles!”) or from BGE telling you how much you saved (or, in our case most recently, didn’t) on an “energy savings day”. That was very considerate of Walmart to notify you of the lens expiration to avoid another MD visit…though we all know how much you enjoy those so what the heck – make an appointment with the eye doctor anyway. Knock your lights out. (Well, not really, of course…)
