IKEA and Other Stuff

Yesterday morning started with the Second Walkthrough at IKEA. I had remembered from the night before that I wanted a lamp. I needed something for the bedside table of my guest bedroom. This lamp will come on with the light switch, then should be able to be switched off from bed. IKEA had a lamp that looked like a kerosene lamp. It even had a flame-shaped lightbulb, and was dimmable. Cool!

After checkout, we went to lunch, then the teacher store (where I got three new resource books for Language Arts!), then back to IKEA for the Third Walkthrough. Lauren and I both got additional items, mine being some acrylic mirrors I could hang in my classroom.

Lloyd was staying in Missouri for a meeting, so we were meeting Beth (who also has the meeting). Since we had some time to kill, we went to a nearby park. It was called Waterfall Park because it had a waterfall in it.

We walked the stream a little. It was hot.

We drove north a little to meet with Beth, dropped off Lloyd, and Lauren and I returned home. It was a delightful adventure!

Thank you for the lovely getaway! I am grateful for it all. 🙂

That lamp is quite cool. What do they call it when it is modeled after something so old? Pioneer Retro?
