A Different Texture

When I make oatmeal, I use a saucepan, and use little water, so it’s got a pretty firm mouth-feel. I like it that way, but every once in a while, I get a craving for the watery, sticky kind of oatmeal that buffets have. When I eat it, I can pretend I’m having breakfast at a hotel on vacation. It’s fun!

I normally sweeten oatmeal with honey, but for this kind I use sugar.

    Hotel oatmeal! It’s like you’re on vacation…..

    I wish liked oatmeal more. It’s such a perfect food! Cheap, filling, healthy – it ticks all the boxes. The oatmeal I’m eating right now has a lot of butter, sugar, a little flour, some egg and cinnamon, and is pretty crunchy. Oh, and craisins.
