My homeroom is doing a gift exchange for our Christmas party. The kids drew names. I had them fill out a sheet to help the person buying a gift for them. When the topic of “help sheets” comes up, I often tell the story of the Christmas before my 37th birthday, and how I wrote “no mugs”, and then I was mugged for a month before my birthday.
Yesterday was the end of an eighth grade fundraiser that sells small gifts for school kids to get and wrap for their parents. I think there was a mug in the leftover inventory, because a couple of students left it on my desk as a gift. Ha! Good one, Evan and Xavier! I laughed when I saw it.
Ha! At least it is a beautiful one. It might look amazing with an orchid in it……
Ha ha I remember the “mugging” well! You had so many interesting mugs show up on your desk that month.
What she said. Good times.
(…and they make great planters for seedlings, worse comes to worse…)
