Couch Crunching

It was a late day at school because of Youth Group Night. I was tired when I got home. I sat on the couch and ate some pork rinds.

And then I went to bed.

    After I read this, I was curious…so I read this: https://www.allrecipes.com/article/what-are-pork-rinds/

I was pulled into the section on how they are made; more complicated than I would have thought. And no, my butcher father never offered these in the store.

Yeah. That’s a loooooooooong day. I respect your decision and hope that today is just a regular day. No – better than a regular day!

I purchased a big ol’ container of BBQ pork rinds a couple weeks ago, and gave them to middle schoolers. Many kids had never tried a pork rind. It was very interesting for the class and I to watch the reactions. I told them of my first experiences watching rinds being made at Silver Dollar City. A few of the kids visibly blanched when they found out what they had eaten. It was entertaining.

I saw them being made in Silver Dollar City too! I had eaten them before, but I think it was the first time I realized what they were made of.
