I got a box of tulip bulbs in the mail. It’s the perennial tulip collection I ordered on impulse earlier. When I ordered them, I was most excited about the single bulb of a giant tulip they would send. The tulip will be three feet tall they said.
When I got the box, I immediately looked for that bulb. I was thinking it would be HUGE. It would be the size of an apple or something! It would completely fill my hand! It doesn’t. It’s smaller than some regular-sized tulip’s bulbs I’ve seen. hmmm….
So of course I’m going to plant it anyway. I’m especially curious now. Will this tiny tulip bulb produce a gargantuan tulip? We’ll have to wait until “Mid to late spring”
I wish they called it the “Towering Prism Tulip of Doom”.
