Beginning the Base

As requested, here is a picture of the other wall of cabinets. Notice the toaster. I have already cooked something in my new kitchen — toaster waffles!

I dont need no stinkin counter!

I had a freakishly busy day yesterday. In between 9am and 9:30pm I was home for about a total of 45 minutes. I substitute-preached for one of my co-workers who has a small church in West Baltimore, then I had an open house at school, then I went to a church dinner group meal. Whew!

Meanwhile, Denis started assembling the base cabinets.
And so the base begins...

But there’s another problem. The base cabinet next to the stove bumps up against the natural gas supply pipe. The pipe bends to the left, but needs to bend to the right. I’m not quite as scared of working with gas as I once might have been because of the electrical work I’ve done. But making a mistake with electricity just means a tripped breaker; making a mistake with gas means my house explodes. I’ll have to do some research.

To the right, to the right!

Your fans appreciate your quick response to picture requests.
Very cool, by the way. Did you sign the wall, too?

Um, your kitchen is mighty pretty. Be extra sure not to blow it up, okay? I have faith in you, but not in everyone’s mortal enemy – natural gas.
