Just as I must build up a “neck callous” in the fall because I wear collared shirts, so must I build a “toe callous” in the summer because I wear flip-flops. My toe callouses are coming along nicely. I’m still not completely used to my new shoes, though.
Yesterday I went to Lincoln with Lloyd to take his car to the shop. We burned some of the wait time by running errands. I slipped in my shoes three times. I may have callouses to protect my toes, but they won’t protect the rest of me if I wipe out.
I also need to remember to use sunscreen if I’m going to spend a lot of time outside. A wicked sunburn on the tops of your feet is not a happy thing.
I think they make sunscreen just for feet. It’s called SPF 10 (Specifically Por Feet).
Dang. That wasn’t funny.
You do build up sun tolerance on your feet pretty quickly, however. Even I, Beth of the Burny Skin, avoid foot burn and have pretty prominent sun lines from my sandals (I don’t call them tan lines…I don’t tan).
Ha! Did you fall flat on your face? Not that that would be funny … but people always laugh when my face hits the pavement … well, actually they pretty much just ignore me anymore … are you sure we’re not related in someway?
And BTW: You could have at least combed the hair on your toes before you took the picture!
Frodo
LOL!!!
You need to warn people instead of springing pictures of your hairy toes on them. I was eating my breakfast when I first saw this and nearly barfed my oatmeal on the computer!
Is no one going to comment on my carpet? That’s the REAL star of the photo! It’s like it’s been IntelliCLEANed!!
Right after I thought about LOTRs, I thought, wow, that is some carpet!
LOTRs???
I assumed that carpet was photoshopped from a model home … beauuuuutiful!!!
My goodness, what lovely and very clean carpeting! I’m so impressed!
Not just clean, IntelliClean.
That’s more like it.
