Toothpaste

Earlier, I had been experiencing an unpleasant bitter-metallic taste in my mouth. I suspected it was a reaction to artificial sweeteners, so I tried to cut them out of my day. I didn’t have success until I also stopped using toothpaste that had sweeteners in it. The brand I settled on was “Tom’s of Maine”. I was glad to find something with no added sweeteners, but it tastes horrible. You start with the anticipation of a minty taste because it does in fact have lots of mint in it. But with no sweeteners, the mint quickly takes on a spit character in your mouth. It’s like you’re brushing your teeth with toothpaste backwash.

Oddly enough, I have grown used to it and have even come to like it a little.

My difficulty is this: My usual pattern is to switch brands or flavors of toothpaste every time I run out. I am now running out of this tube of “Tom’s” toothpaste. I can’t decide if I should get a toothpaste with artificial sweetener and risk the aftertaste, or if I should just stick with “Tom’s”. The incessant aftertaste is gone now, but will it come back?

For best results, squeeze from the bottom.

I have to think that if you go back to regular toothpaste, you might faint from the sweet shock. Perhaps another brand of Tom’s? Perhaps Alfalfa flavor?

I wish I had problems like you! I’ll start to help you with your problems once I have all of mine figured out. Until then, you might have to labor over this difficult decision without me!

Michelle, what could possibly be more important than the care of one’s teeth? Really? Without teeth you can’t talk, sing, or bite crazy people so they’ll let go of your arm.

    Hey Laurrrrren – BITE ME!
By the way – Michele has one L. (reason for overloading your name with R’s)
(Brad said I could say that to you – I’m really a nice person! I’m already feeling guilty!)

Michele, I apologize for the misspelling of your name. Is there anything I can do to earn your firgiveness? I can tell by the angry tone of your comment that you’re really, really upset and I never meant to cause you any grief or pain. You were right to misspell my name, and I will head to the courthouse on Monday to have it legally changed to Laurrrrren so I can make amends for my thoughtless actions.

I’m so sorry. I can never show my face in public again. My people will shun me, as is our way.
