Head Music

Last week I heard a recording of a boy choir called Libera. After searching iTunes for a while, I found three songs I liked and downloaded them. Rather than waiting for a whole CD’s worth of new music, I just burned these three to a disc. I’ve been listening to them the last couple of days between school and home.

One of the songs stuck in my head.

Yesterday, I had Voca Me looping in my head all day long. And it was LOUD. At times, it seemed like I would have a hard time hearing the kids because of the loud, loud music in my head. I thought it would be gone this morning, but it’s just replaced with something else. Make… it… stop!

Below is a video of the song. I don’t particularly care for the English words to this song, but the other parts just get stuck in my head. The video itself is just weird. What was looping in my head yesterday was timestamp 3:30 to the end. It’s kind of a quiet recording, so you might have to turn up the volume. Turn it up REALLY LOUD and you’ll hear what I was experiencing all day yesterday. 😛

The other songs I got were called Vespera (I like the words to this one) and Sanctus (based on Pachelbel’s canon).

Yesterday’s Lenten Chore: Water plants upstairs.

This reminds me of the first time I heard Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Pie Jesu. That was the first time I had ever heard a boy soprano. Amazing! (And kinda freaky.) Did you ever read the Dragonrider books? There was a boy, Piemur, who was a boy soprano and I could never figure out if that part was true. (I was just a kid, but I new that GIRLS were sopranos. Not stinky boys.)

I admit I don’t know a lot about music, but even I know some male Sopranos … Tony, Uncle Junior … (ba dump bump)

Blocked from YouTube at work 🙁

What jingle is in your mind today?

I think it’s a very nice song to have looping in your head. Very relaxing. It beats “Ba ba ba bennie & the jetssssssss …”
Can’t comment on the lyrics cause I couldn’t really make them out … but I went on YouTube and was astonished to hear that Libera does a version of “Do You Hear What I Hear? Not as good a Jim, but still good. And they do my favorite hymn, which I’m listening to as I type, Be Still My Soul, but they skip a verse. So now I must search for a choir that does it on YouTube. Wish me luck!

And I just found out that SHaar put a skit on YouTube that he wrote for a few of his wrestlers for Talent Show night. The filming is bad, the skit’s not great but hey, Matt’s famous now as Yon in The Flying Zuchhini Brothers.
