Waiting

Another sign of the end of the school year is “awards banquets”. Last night was the Drama banquet. Our school maintenence guy is something of a renaissance man. Besides the fix-it things he does and everything else, he likes cooking. So he made the food for the banquet. Only thing was, he needed servers. After asking more than once and twisting a few arms, he got a few of us teachers and staff people to help him.

It was nice because we got to sample the food. Free meal! I also enjoyed being a waiter again. I had done that a few summers ago and even kept working on Saturday nights into the school year. It was really good money. But more than that, I just plain enjoyed it. Last night really reminded me of that. I think that if I weren’t a teacher, I would be a waiter at a fancy restaurant.

Caesar salad, roast beef, or chicken parmesan?

I’m really sensing a theme of ‘large basement-like room filled with people’ in your posts. Will tomorrow’s be of a wedding reception? (Punch and cake) You should totally crash a wedding!

  2. Lloyd says:

You could be a waiter at the wedding.

Just don’t take MY job. I am, after all, Punch Girl.

I’ll have the roast beast thank you.

And did you rake in enough last night to have an extra fun summer?

I’m thinking you should have served up a little rabbit stew!
