Second Summer Shoes

I’ve done something heretofore unprecedented. I’ve gotten a second pair of summer shoes. While in Nebraska, I had discovered that my first pair had slidey soles. Often, on uneven ground, my foot would slip off the shoe and my ankle would turn. It was just a matter of time before I hurt myself.

So I got new flip-flops. These were on sale, so they were a good deal. The only problem is some stiff stitching on the underside of the strap that has made the top of my foot sore. I already have my summer toe callous. Now I have to develop some top-of-the-foot tough skin.

But they look nice, don’t they?

My toes go all the way to the end!

And, because your toes go all the way to the end of the shoe, I believe you’ll have much better luck keeping them from flying off your foot.

Congratulations on your new shoes. May they work well for you.

(By the way, you could put a little athletic tape on the under side of the strap and solve that itchy stitching trouble.)

I like these new ones! Maybe you should wear them in the sun a lot to even out that foot tan?

Indeed, they do look nice! I always thought that other pair had to be “irregulars” because toes should go to the end of the shoe … if the shoe is too big, the back should be empty, not the front.

Oh, and did you get a pedicure for the new shoes?

I never really realized that your little toes looked like that.

Hey, watch the little toe comments. I’ve been made fun of my whole life because my little toes are on sideways (that and my left hand is on backwards, really, I’d post a link to a picture of it, but I don’t know how) … but anyway, now I can at least feel cool about the toes because Brad’s are on sideways too. 😉

Are those brown? I thought you were opposed to brown. What’s up?
