Recess

I played Halo 3 for a large part of the day yesterday. I won’t go into specifics because I don’t want to accidentally write any spoilers, but the situation is more desperate than you could possibly imagine. The hour is late and I’m racing against an ancient evil to save humans and aliens both.

I took a break from saving the galaxy and went to dinner. While I was out, I stopped by the sporting goods store for some supplies I needed for school. Every once in a while we have an opportunity to take the kids outside for recess. I love it. I would do it every day if we could.

Previously, I had gotten some playground balls from a store called 5 Below. Everything is $5 and below. Since the balls were cheap, they didn’t last very long. That’s why I went to the sporting goods store. I wanted to get nicer equipment so it would last longer. I got a soccer ball and a football. I am also very happy to say that I got a mesh bag for the equipment. Up ’till now I’ve been using a plastic shopping bag.

Who’da thought I’d ever be excited about sporting goods?

Hooray for mesh!

Are you sure you don’t want to teach PE? Appartently there’s a sport-y side to you bursting out a little at a time.

Do you play with the kids or just watch or just ignore them?

Mmmmmm …. “out to dinner” implies something really good, not just grabbing something to eat … so what was it?

I ate at Qdoba in White Marsh. Not fancy, but still good.

I get excited about all of my purchases. I figure, if it’s not exciting, why buy it?

Except broken stuff around the house. It really irks me to pay $400 to fix the air conditioner or $200 to fix the dishwasher. It’s so expensive, and totally without the excitement.

So enjoy your new equipment! Brad, the super-teacher!!

And one more reason why we need to separate our schedules from the upper school.

We could build recess into our schedule and stop childhood obesity!

How much did you spend on your balls?

and now I have to reply to my own comment with….

      heheheheeeeeee!

You beat me to it! Kim said “balls” 🙂 hehehe …
Peggy suggested Brad teach PE – hahahahaha …
You girls are making my side hurt.

Do you participate in the sporty stuff or just watch them run around? I’m all for watching them run around.

    • Brad

Definitely watch them. Running around with them would be like excercise. I get enough of that when I walk up the steps to the front door.
