Lights Lit… Check

I was a busy bee on Saturday. Besides cooking, I got my icicle lights hung on the porch. But I didn’t get a picture of them until yesterday. And that’s about all I did yesterday. I was making up for Saturday.

Actually, I did do one other thing: We had a nice lunch after church. It was supposed to be caroling, but it was raining, so we had a little lunch, sang a few carols, and went home. It was nice. It helped me feel more Christmasy. As does getting these lights lit.

Wrapping a deciduous tree is a new thing for me. I actually did this the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but I didn’t plug them in until Saturday. The lights were really cheap at Target, so I got a bunch and started wrapping. Unfortunately, I knocked off a bunch of the flower buds for next spring (it’s a Redbud tree), but I guess that’s the price you pay. I think when I’m done enjoying these lights I’ll just cut them off with a wire cutter. The wrapping was crazy-tedious.

The stupid black truck is spoiling my picture. If I had matches with me, I would have set it on fire.

It's like the outside of a mall or something.

WOW!!!! That looks beautiful!! I’ll make you a deal, you come here next time I’m sick – you can decorate the outside of our house, and I’ll make you dangerous bread. Deal?

Light master you are. Powerful you have become. Yes, Mmm.

(That looks awesome! I’ll look at it while I listen to my Christmas music. Or could you make a Youtube something or other with the tree picture?)

I love redbud trees. I’ve always wanted one. Next time I’m sick you can come plant one at my house.

I thought you had snow days? Where’s the snow? Good heavens we’re in the ice box, with at least 4″ on the ground, to say nothing of the ice blanketed streets.
Oh, yeah, nice lights…really! Nice lights.

I like the rosebud tree too. I hope it doesn’t get too warm with the lights on it and think that it’s spring and start to bloom only to die. (there, one more thing to worry about)

‘Redbud’, Lloyd. ‘Rosebud’ is your nickname for Phennig.
