Life Without Television

All my regular TV shows are in re-run right now. I don’t have anything to watch at night.

By 7:00pm or so last night, I was tired of watching syndicated shows, so I turned off the TV. I put some laundry in the wash. Then I played Oblivion a little bit, but it’s not the same now that Martin is gone. I put the laundry in the dryer, then paid some bills. After the clothes were dry, I folded them. I was tired of thinking of something to do, and I sure as heck didn’t want to do any more housework, so I started getting ready for bed. It was 8:53pm.

Is this what life without TV is like? It’s so… empty.

My second TV show wouldn't even be over by this time.

You really miss Martin, eh? I’m so sorry.

You should watch lots of cable shows like I do. I’ve hardly noticed this writer’s strike at all. They don’t need writers for ‘This House Needs To Be Completely Redone. Then We’ll Make Cake And Tell You How To Dress’. Those kinds of shows write themselves.

Go for a walk and look in other people’s living room windows….um, I mean look at their Christmas lights.

I don’t think I can visit this site anymore … What’s up with your nightstand? Where’s the junk? No drink for during the night? No kleenex? No pen or pencil? No nail file or nail polish? No remotes? No lotion? No receipts? No coins? No dust? I guess you don’t have any clothes on your dresser either … grrrrr!

All that stuff is on the floor. Except for nail file and polish, remotes, lotions, receipts, and coins. Receipts and coins are on my dresser, along with a bunch of other crap, so there is no room for clothes on the dresser. The clothes are on the floor. Lotion is in the bathroom. I do not currently have any nail polish in my house.

I keep the little nightstand clean so I can put my glasses and phone on it every night.

BTW: Rent movies during this horrid re-run season? If the movie stinks it will at least put you to sleep.

I could UPS you a 2.5 year old. That would keep you busy in the evenings.

Hello??? Why didn’t you spend all that down time making Lemon Pudding for our middle school faculty meeting today?

When we don’t have TV here in Phuket, I just grab a book and head to the beach. Now I have a little sunburn. I guess I’ll have to use the beach umbrella…
