I finally made it to Nebraska yesterday at 11:00am. It took me as long as if I had driven… two days. But I was glad to make it. When I got to Seward, we went straight into the celebrations. We started with a turkey dinner. It was so good to eat real food. I had mostly been eating Pop Tarts and trail mix for the last two days.
We continued with The Opening of The Presents.
BEFORE
AFTER
There were many fun and awesome gifts. Grandpa and Anna and Tara all got robes.
The evening ended with the traditional Smashing of The Plate.
Actually, the broken plate was an accident, but it was a Corelle plate, so it was worthy of note. My mom had had that plate for more than 20 years. That’s a pretty good record, I’d say.
So I’m so glad to have made it for actual Christmas. After a good night’s sleep I feel great, and the rest of the week is for hanging out and having fun. Yay, fun!
Whoops. I realize since you’re standing right there my comments aren’t being typed down.
Cute pictures!! It was a very fun day, and I’m glad that your family enjoyed all their presents and fed us!
A very Merry Christmas…for a cute pic of Uncle Brad and Tim, please see http://www.bethtastic.com.
Yay, you made it!!! I guess for the Royuks, Pesters, & Sommerers it was like waiting for Santa!
(I’m most jealous of picture number 2 … is that snow covered streets I see? Is it still snowing?)
Brad – tell Mom if that Corelle plate was of the Butterfly Gold pattern of the 1970’s, there’s plenty more in Rosedale, MD, where that one came from – let me know when I should UPS out a few more plates…or cups…or bowls…or…
[Those suckers really shatter when they DO break, nicht wahr?]
Happy Christmas, everyone – glad you were actually able to pull it off all in the same year, too!! Now for the really important question, Brad – did all your luggage make it as well??
Yay! Love the matching placemats, and for so many settings!
Merry Christmas!
