Two Mysteries

Last night I went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. I’m not a fan of cheesecake because I once ate it before a violent attack of stomach flu. So when dessert time came, I ordered a strawberry shortcake. It was delicious. I thought the ice cream they put on it was particularly tasty. I could have eaten just ice cream with strawberries.

And that’s when it hit me: I’ve been eating strawberries a lot lately. On Monday or Tuesday I went to the grocery store and impulsively bought a carton of strawberries. On Thursday I went to Baskin Robbins and got strawberry ice cream. Yesterday I got a cupcake from a bake sale that had strawberry frosting. And last night: strawberry shortcake. What’s with this strange craving for strawberries?

I could've just had this for dinner.

The other mystery was in the parking garage: Arrows pointing to and from nowhere. I took a picture of it, but I did not walk over to investigate. I was afraid it would lead into another reality, and I’m NOT going through that again anytime soon.

That is an outside wall. It leads to a three story drop.

Is that really a completely indoor parking garage? With walls all around?
We don’t have those here…our parking garages don’t have solid walls and tiny windows. Ours have huge parking slabs held up by huge columns for many layers. But not solid walls with tiny windows.

    Strange.

We have both in the big city. Sadly, both styles are equally expensive to use.

My search for reasons for craving strawberries in particular led me to several yummy-sounding recipes but never really answered that question, but think of it this way: winter is soon upon us…sunlight is already shrinking…strawberries are big Vitamin C factories…maybe your body is having you stock up on something you’ll be without from nature for a while, just like all those chubby squirrels I am regularly almost hitting in the Subaru on the way home these days (too fat to run away anymore?) seem to be doing with their (you’ll pardon the word) acorns and other snacks. [By the way, can you say “Many snow days this year!”? Squirrels wouldn’t lie, would they?]

[Incidentally, I don’t think anyone can really “stock up” on Vitamin C, as it is a water-soluble rather than a fat-soluble vitamin…one can only ensure that one’s pee is rich in C…see?]

As for those garage floor arrows that seem to go nowhere, obviously you have entered a portal to another dimension. I am surprised “They” are so blatant and careless, leaving their arrows where just anyone can see them. Just can’t get good help anymore, I guess.

Last night my craving was lime … as in margarita!

Are you pregnant? I don’t think this qualifies as a craving becaue I can certainly live without, but I have been enjoying sweet drinks lately – McDonald’s sweet tea, cappuccino, chai tea. Yummm.

    But strawberries sound good too.

That looks delicious! Was that your whole dinner?

I’ve never been to the Cheesecake Factory…what else did you get besides that exquisite dessert? Maybe I’ll go there tonight…and of course I always look forward to exploring alternate worlds and timelines…Great Scott!!
