I forgot to say “Happy Birthday” to my nephew Daniel yesterday. I didn’t forget his birthday, though. I mailed his card yesterday. I like to make the birthdays last, so I always send my greetings late. 🙂
I also went out for some sushi yesterday. It’s been a while. I went to Sushi Hana, so I had the super-delicious salad with carrot dressing. I also had my favorite kind of sushi – salmon. It was, as always, sweet and delicious.
What was especially awesome-good yesterday was the Eda Mame (edda mah-may). It’s an appetizer that I think I could eat for a whole meal. It’s simply steamed soybeans in the pod covered with flaky salt. Honestly, I don’t know what kind of salt it was, but I almost licked the bowl. It seemed extra tasty. And soybeans are supposed to be good for you, right? So here’s to me for eating a nutritious meal! (except for some deep-fried tempura seafood)

What?!? You never mentioned before that Japanese food was heavily salted…that changes everything…I mean afterall, I’m pretty sure a tennis shoe would taste good with enough salt.
Heck yeah for Edamame! When you come over for some Carcassonne, we’ll be sure to have some soybeans. I have a seasoning I like to use. Got the recipe from Roy’s Asian Fusion. Yummie!
