Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Sweet

Happy Birthday to my niece Tara! Yay!

One of my students was selling Easter candy as a fundraiser. I always buy at least one thing from students who are selling something, unless it’s this one frozen pizza company that our school groups always use. I really don’t like their pizza or cookie dough and it seems like kids are selling it three or four times a year. Yuck.

Anyway, one of our students was selling Easter candy, so I got something. Actually, I got two boxes of peanut brittle, and a box of chocolate caramels. I ate one of the boxes of peanut brittle in two days. It was tasty. I’m taking more time with the caramels. I’m sure I could eat them all at once for a meal. I experimented one year and tried to eat a two pound box of chocolates in one sitting. I couldn’t quite do it, but to be fair, those chocolates had a lot butter in the fillings.

I’ve chosen to eat the caramels more slowly than that, and last night I started thinking that they might actually make it to Easter. The little squares in the box reminded me of an Advent calendar, but I’m counting down to Easter. It’s a Lenten calendar!

Not long now...

Wow – those do look delicious! So you’re really just eating one caramel a day? That’s some magnificent restraint.

    • Brad

Hehe… no, it’s not one per day. More like 3 or 4 or 8 per day.

Now that I think about it, maybe they won’t make it to Easter after all…

      • Lauren

Oh duh. Looking at how many are left I could have figured that out. Math is hard.

Dnag, you stole my “Lenten Calendar” comment. Now I’ve got nothing. Nothing I say.

Happy Lent! Er, um…something like that…

    • Deanne

      Sad Lent? Contemplative Lent? Hmmm…

I bought candy from the same kid, but my candy is for gifts…well, was for gifts…I stopped just last night at the Log Cabin to get the ‘replacement candy’.

Hey, at least you’re working off all your candy at the gym. 😉

    • Brad

      Er… yes… the gym.

Actually, I finally went again yesterday after three weeks off. Why is it so hard? Ugh.

  5. Carol

If you could actually eat but one a day, you might make it to Orthodox Easter, Brad! Good luck with that…

Riddle: How are caramels like Lays Potato Chips?

    (too obvious, eh?)

God bless your youthful dental work’s all my final comment on all this.
