My brother and his family arrived last night around 8:30. They are on an old-fashioned, drive-in-a-car, family vacation. They spent some time in Virginia visiting Sandra’s brother and his family, they’ll stay here today and tomorrow, then head to New York. They’ll be in Nebraska in time for the Fourth of July, because where else would you spend the Fourth?
It has been really interesting to see Max reacting to these visitors. When people have come over before, he has been right in the middle of the action. This time he’s a little freaked out. I don’t know if it’s the larger number of visitors or if it’s the fact that some of them are small. He hasn’t seen many kids in his lifetime. Maybe small versions of people confuse him.
In spite of his anxiety, he can’t seem to stay away from the action. It’s funny to see him get close to everything, but try to stay separate from it. I think by tonight he will have adjusted.
Welcome, Brent and clan! While two days is hardly enough time to see all “Bawlmer” has to offer, I know Brad will be a great host. Heck, it’ll probably take both those days just to walk through the garden and hear all the neat-o Latin genus and species names for things planted there!
…and good for you, Max, for trying to overcome a newly discovered phobia – parvaphobia, I believe (fear of small things). Soon enough they’ll be big, too – hang in there…
Aw, it’s cute to see him so nervous. Maybe he’s nervous that they think he’s a rodent. Perhaps a proper introduction is in order? “Anna, this is a CAT.” Say is really loud so he can hear you.
Have fun with the family!
He’s probably expecting a miniature cat to come out of the miniature people’s miniature luggage.
That’s ok Max…you pussyfoot around all you want!
That’s funny – I’ve been organizing my digital pix and came across the pictures from Max’s visit with my kids last summer. One of them is the extra nipple picture. I will put them up on my facebook so you all can see.
