Thank God for DVR

I have been going to bed early all week. My normal bedtime is 10pm, but lately I just can’t stay up that late, even when good TV is on.

Last night I fell asleep watching Bones. After missing about 10 minutes of the show, I decided to call it quits. I run the DVR on all my regular shows just in case something like this happens, so I’ll be able to go back and watch it later. In fact, that’s what all my TV watching has been like: record it now, watch it later. Why don’t they start Prime Time at 7pm? Then I could at least stay awake for most of it.

Here's what the cable machine said when I went up to bed.

Yeah, what is the deal with your coast? Prime time does start at 7 here in the good ol’ midwest, because the television stations knew that cows couldn’t stay up due to the early milking time.

(Also, you get up at 4:30, so that might explain some of the problem, eh?)

4:30 is a very normal time to get up. For me.

I agree. 4:30 is a perfectly normal time to get up in the morning… In Hell.

        HA! And agree!

Yea…now, 5 a.m. – there’s your best wake-up time! (Somebody tell our cat it’s okay to wait until 5 a.m. to start jumping around on my tummy, will ya’?)

I second your emotion, sir – there was life BDVR (full of frustration due to ends of programs missed as a result of loss of consciousness, etc.) and now life ADVR (full of such a large quantity of quality recorded programming I’d need to take days off work to get caught up…..Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!)

    Long live video technology.

5:15 is plenty early for me. It’s a struggle to get out of bed each day. Sweet, sweet sleep – it calls to me….

I had a conversation with my mom last week about why I could watch Jay Leno (at 9 pm my time) at the same time she was watching Jay Leno (at 10 pm her time). It finally got to a point where I just didn’t know how to explain it. When we hung up, I said, “Goodbye Shirley.” (that’s her mom’s name) She told me that she thought she loved me… 😉
