YouthQuake: A Full Day

Yesterday’s schedule was a full one. After a morning worship Celebration, we attended Treks, which are small workshops. The kids choose which ones they will attend. My guys got a little confused about the selection process and ended up just getting random ones. They did one on sign language, one led by the college-age band Captive Free, and one about families.

This was the family Trek. They were doing a mixer.

We took a break and ate at Damon’s Barbecue restaurant. They hand giant TV’s on the wall.

They were televising some sort of contest that involved the use of a ball.

When I was done eating, I made a face with my leftovers.

Ha!

In the evening, we had another worship Celebration, then a dance. More than half the kids chose to stay upstairs and watch the Ravens play the Colts. I stayed with the dancing kids. It was fun. Here’s a shot of the dance floor:

I think some Miley Cyrus song was playing.

I danced a little bit on the sidelines. Here are the Rolaids I had to get from the front desk because I shook up all the food in my stomach and got indigestion:

I always eat three, because two doesn't seem like enough and four just seems excessive.

This morning it’s been really hard to get my boys up. Now that a couple are awake, they’ll wake the others. We end YouthQuake with a worship Celebration, then go home.

So were the ones who stayed to watch the game disappointed that they didn’t just go to the dance?

Yea…I had to cheer for Peyton. Go Colts!! (I want them to take it all, now.)

Wow, that day is enough to wear anyone out. How are you able to stay awake today? You’re not driving home, are you?

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I just popped in to catch up on you. Got new iPhone- need your number. We are due for a long phone convo- call me.

    Miss you.

    Hello- everyone else!

    • Lauren

Hi, Beth! Good to hear from you!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you dancing standing up. I mean I’ve seen you rocking back & forth in a chair to the music…but a video of real dancing would have been nice?

My guess is you’ll be taking a nap(s) today and what a perfect day it is for that! Enjoy!

HA! I like your caption for the lunch picture…and when I first looked at that picture, I looked at the people only & thought the GIANT TVs were windows from the corner of my eyes! Holy cow!!

I just got that your gravitar is a pony tail of the back of your head! HA! I think my eyesight is finally improving!

What did you think it was before you got it?
