Wrestling Tournament

Yesterday was Peggy’s birthday. I was watching the date get closer and closer, then completely forgot it when it finally came. Sorry, Peggy. I love celebrating people’s birthdays, especially when they’re good friends.

Yesterday was also a Middle School wrestling tournament. I left my cell phone at home. I’ve never been such a nervous wreck. When they invent implanted cell phones I will seriously consider it. We took nine boys to the tournament. It was a lot of fun. There was supposed to be some snow in the morning, but it didn’t come, so the tournament wasn’t canceled. Yay!

What's that through the windows?

Snow on the trees?

The snow we were supposed to get in the morning came late. It snowed steadily for several hours, leaving an inch and-a-half or so. But the tournament kept on going. We had three medal winners!

The trip home was perilous, but I had to get to my phone. What if the president was trying to call me? Or even more important- what if Ron Paul was trying to call?

Slow, slow driving.

    A Brad without a phone? That’s inconceivable!

Your state is pretty much going to shut down for the next couple of days, right? At least you have heat….

    • Brad

My heat stopped working again sometime yesterday. I didn’t figure it out until 9pm last night. By then I was too sleepy to stay up and wait for a repair man. I’ll call today after our school’s Open House.

An inch and a half! We got about 6 inches up here in Harford County.

Way to go BLS MS wrestling team!! That is EXCELLENT!!

    And KUDOS to the coaches!!

After I posted, I went to wbal.com and they said four to eight inches fell. I guess I’m not so good at judging snow depth.

So. Enjoy your week off school, yes?

        • Brad

          Hehe… no.

We had an Open House today, and it’s in progress as scheduled. I doubt we’ll even have a late start tomorrow. The streets are pretty clear.

Get off Bradaptation, more parents are coming!

  3. Carol

Yea, MS grapplers! Must be their excellent coaches…I was trying to make out all 3 medalists from another snapshot on Kim’s FB page – names, please, so I can exchange high-fives in the hallway tomorrow morning?

The snow was lovely, wasn’t it, but a total waste of frozen precip when it comes on a SATURDAY like that. Had that been, say, a TUESDAY there’d have been a noon dismissal for sure. Sigh. Our rookie teacher just doesn’t have down the snow dance yet, I guess…

[Did you get the furnace attended to yet? I’m starting to worry about Max – you boys can huddle under blankets and in Snuggies if need be, but he has no clothes!]

I’m waiting for the repair man right now. If he doesn’t come by 10pm, I’ll cancel the service order and go to bed.
