Crayon Day

Yesterday was Crayon Day at school… we were to wear all one color. I was excited because as I was browsing at the mall this past weekend, I stumbled across some jeans on the clearance rack for $10 that were bright purple. Awesome! The store I was in was H&M. I like their clothes because they’re funky. And in keeping with that, the pants I bought were cut a little weird. The first student who saw me said: “Are those skinny jeans? Eeew!” Heh.

Among us Middle School teachers, we almost got a box of eight crayon colors, but no one wore orange, yellow, or blue. Still, I think we did a pretty good job:

Angie (second from the left) is wearing a label that says 'Sepia'. Hehe...

Ah… that fresh crayon smell when you first open a box of teachers…

You guys look great…but where are your coordinating pointy hats? (If I was there I would have made them & made you all wear them)

I LOVE CRAYONS!! LOVE! So it’s no surprise that I have this artwork in my house.

Two young lady middle schoolers actually DID wear colored mini traffic cones as hats and coordinated their clothing with the cone colors – neither of which was orange! Very clever, I thought. This was a great addition to our week of themed dress. [Now somebody remind me what all this has to do with Lutheran Schools again?]

Did you wear your purple shoes?

I couldn’t. They were in the wash.
