My usual method of organizing things is to stack them. Normally, these stacks build up a little, then I work through them and put stuff away. But school has been exceptionally busy lately, so my stacks are getting out of control. I started digging through my desk stacks yesterday, but all I was doing was moving them to the bookshelf behind me. Now I’ve got stacks on the desk AND stacks on my coffeemaker and radio. I think I’m out of horizontal surfaces for now. Does that mean I can stop stacking and just throw everything away from now on? I’m sorely tempted…

I believe you’re in danger of becoming a Dr. Seuss story with your stacks and stacks and chair backs and sacks. The thing on the chair back – dare those be slacks?
A method that works really well for me is: (1) Stack until the end of school (2) throw away.
I agree with Lloyd, but my stack disposal cycle is three years. I generally use my snow shovel.
I’ve never been a stacker myself…unless we’re talking about pancakes.
