Peelings

For the last few days I’ve been almost obsessed with making glue “finger prints”. You know, that thing where you spread white glue on your fingers, let it dry, and peel it off? I’ve gotten very good at fingertip peelings. I’ve tried a few palm peelings as well. Partial palms are easy, but doing a full palm peeling hasn’t worked. I think since the glue in the creases of my palm dries more slowly, there is a difference in elasticity and the peeling tears. I’ll have to conduct some more trials to gather more information…

    Two things:
    1. Apparently this is supposed to be a good technique for getting a splinter out. The glue sticks to the splinter and you pull it out. I’ve never tried it.
    2. This has been recommended as a cheap way to do a Biore’ pore strip. I can attest that it does not work.

Do they even still make those? I don’t remember seeing them in the store for ages.

They have them here. They’re still disgusting, but fascinating!

I used to love do do that in third grade. And we had this little indentation in our desks for pencils. I used to make glue sculptures using that indent. I must have wasted a lot of glue!

I suggest to make the full palm print that you use a lot of glue in a tupperware or something and leave your palm in there for a day or two. Then the glue won’t be so thin when you try to peel it.

It might be a trick to leave your palm in glue for several days, though.

I remember making fake glue fingernails using the indentation of my ruler. Good times!

Ask the school kids how to get a full palm print. I’m sure some of them have perfected it.

Dang, now I want to try this & I haven’t any glue! It’s like peeling skin when you get a sunburn. It was always a challenge to see how big of a sheet you could get…everyone did this right?

I think you should try your face…I’m curious to see if it would come out bustlike.

    Peelings, nothing more than peelings,
    Wo-o-o peelings…

I was obsessed with this in seventh grade. To do your palm you need to do several coats, allowing each to try before you add the next.

If you write memory work on a palm peeling you can peel it off after the quiz and roll the evidence into an inky glue ball.

But if you write notes on bits of tape, Mr. Engelbrect will catch you and read the embarrassing thing you wrote.
