I’ve been eating a few sweet cherries each night for the last few days. I’ve been warned that eating too many at once can have dire consequences. It’s a little early in the season, so they aren’t the sweetest cherries I’ve had, but they are very fresh tasting. They taste like summer.
I love sweet cherries, so when I saw them in the grocery store, I had to get them. They had small bags and large bags. I got a large one of course. On my way out of the store, I was trying to figure out why my bill was so big. All I got was a few things… Looking at the receipt, I spotted it: the price of the cherries was twelve dollars. Twelve dollars!
So as I eat these cherries, I’m trying to appreciate them for what they are: the most expensive fruit I’ve ever eaten. Maybe I should pay more attention when I’m shopping.
Ha!!!!! I laughed OUT LOUD! You should save the stems and pits and gold-leaf them.
Yikes, that is CRAZY!! But I bet there’s at least a hundred cherries in that bag…so .12 cents each sounds better, doesnt’ it?
(Especially considering they charge you .15 cents for a tootsie roll at convenience store checkouts)
