Happy Birthday to Tim! Yay!
I went with Tim, Tara, and Harold to get some fireworks yesterday. It’s been years since I went shopping for fireworks. When I was a kid, I’d save money all year long so I could get a paper grocery bag packed full of pyrotechnic wonders.
Yesterday I felt a little of the old excitement. I ended up getting some fountains, some sparkler-type things called flares, a few ground fireworks, some parachute launchers, a 100 missile battery, and lots of smoke balls. I love smoke balls. I barely restrained myself from buying an entire box of packages of smoke balls.
There were many amazing-looking fireworks that shot things in the air, but there are so many mature trees in Seward, it’s hard to find a place to launch airborne fireworks, so I passed on them. I loved browsing them though. They had hilarious names. Here was my favorite:
Ha! It’s just called Buy Me… If it weren’t $50, I might actually have considered it.
You passed on the HOT SHOT of the YEAR??
We had fireballs in Oregon this morning, too…paper toweling caught fire while frying bacon, paper toweling purposely put down around a gas oven burner to catch splattered bacon grease and reduce clean up later. You can guess how that went…
Be careful, youse guys! I’ve known more than one earnest pyrotechnic amateur over the years who has less digits now than he used to have. No lion. I’ll be watching the pros, thank you.
