A Very Happy Third

Happy Fourth of July!

Yesterday was Tim’s birthday. We celebrated all day long. Lunch was at Chuck E. Cheese. We did our best to spend three hundred tokens or so. I don’t think we succeeded.

After all that excitement, I returned to Lloyd and Lauren’s for a nap. I woke up just in time for dinner. We had a cookout at Seward Park. It was fun.

Grandpa showed Tim how to cook some hot dogs.
There's nothing like cooking a dog over an open flame.

Tara and Tim found a toad. They were very excited. They named it Hoppy.
They kept it in a grocery bag.

After releasing Hoppy, everybody ate frogs.
They were actually cookies, not real frogs.

Love those cookies! The color is awesome!

HA! Those cookies are adorable! I hope you shared some with Hoppy before his release.

I think the ASPCA should be notified: first, you dine where one has cooked dogs over an open fire (gasp!), then you support the carrying of toads around in plastic bags (were holes poked in the bag, forcryin’outloud?)…I’m disappointed…

So, has it rained a bit where you are? I hear Lincoln had a few inches last night…? Mid-60’s and sunny in Gleneden, OR, today for the July 4th parade and craft show. Don’t want to go back to B-more on Tuesday (where the national news warns we could be breaking heat wave records soon.)

Hooray for birthdays! It looks divine, and I’m sorry we missed it.
