Every time I drive up the hill from my house, I pass a house where the owners have cut down some trees. I can’t remember if the trees were dead or if the the owners cut them while they were living. I’ve noticed some nice chunks of wood that would burn nicely in my firepit and I’ve wanted to ask if they would part with them, but I haven’t had a chance.
I’ve also noticed that when they cut one of the trees down they left rather a tall stump. Recently, the stump developed a head. I think it’s an eagle. I look every day now to see if any changes have been made. Nothing. There have been no changes for a week or so. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
I like chainsaw carvings. We have several around Seward, and I’m always impressed with the details.
Maybe that is the carving, and this guy just isn’t very good at it.
