When the subject of my ties comes up at school, sometimes students give me requests. On Thursday, a student asked that I wear my most evil tie. I only had to think a moment before I knew exactly what to select. This is what I wore yesterday:
When I was a kid, I hated Tigger. He was always smashing other peoples’ things and ruining stuff. And he never apologized. Instead, he LAUGHED! He was arrogant and thoughtless. I didn’t understand why anyone liked him. I haven’t watched any of the cartoons as an adult, so I don’t know if this was a childhood misperception, but my memories of him are all bad.
Awww that makes me sad you didn’t get the joy that is Tigger. You need to rewatch it (classic Disney Pooh not the current blasphemy) and appreciate his naughtiness. One of my favourite memories is of introducing Tigger to my then 3 year old nephew who was beside himself with happiness when he bounced onto Pooh’s tummy. I’ll remember that smile till I die.
HA! I laughed out loud when I scrolled down & saw the tie…I never watched Winnie the Pooh…so I don’t know anything about Tigger, other than his name. I just never cared for that cartoon…
I hated Tigger, too. For all the same reasons. We must be related.
(The current “My friends, Tigger and Pooh” has a softened version of Tigger. But the damage is done for me.)
Hmmmm…… smashing and laughing? Ruining people’s stuff? Thoughtless? I believe I have several Tiggers in my class. I’m working on them…..
Y’know, though – the wonderful thing about tiggers, is tiggers are wonderful things….
YOU ARE MAD PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU’RE INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So. What you’re saying, Anna, is that you like Tigger?
A few reasons why I never liked ‘Winnie the Pooh’
1. His name.
2. He only wears a shirt. Either wear a shirt & shorts or nothing at all like the other characters. The ‘shirt only look’ seems slightly risque.
3. His voice.
4. Eeyore’s voice.
5. Eeyore’s negativity.
6. Rabbit’s annoying nervousness.
7. Winnie’s one-source diet (hence his nickname?)
I see your point, everyone. Even married to a lifelong Disney fan…I see your point.
