Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

One Down…

Well, the new kind of lotion from Clinique I’ve been testing isn’t working out. It feels heavier than my old stuff, and it feels like it makes my skin tight and dry. And it makes my face really, really shiny. Ugh.

Yesterday I went to Macy’s thinking that I’d wander around the cosmetics area and look for another option. I can’t remember the names of all the things I looked at. The first stuff was in the men’s area. The guy helping me didn’t understand what I was asking for. He suggested that I use four different products in succession. Too much work. The second stuff I tried had a hideously strong smell. It was fake hyacinth smell. I was choking. The third stop was the Clinique counter. I asked if there was anything other than the stuff they suggested last time. They showed me an acne lotion. Nope.

I went back to the first stop to look at those products again, and on the shelf next to them was a brand called “Lab” by Aramis. And lo and behold there was a product called “Oil Control Hydrator”. That’s exactly what my old stuff was called! Awesome! I got some immediately. Now I’ll just have to wait and see if it works for me. I can’t decide if I want it to work out or not. It’s expensive.

Once again a tiny tube.

Here’s an idea for someone with a degree in the sciences: When you discover how well the expensive new product works, read and record the ingredients label and MAKE YOUR OWN AT HOME! You not only will save a ton of money but might even want to get your own infomercial to sell it to other poor souls wandering aimlessly around cosmetic counters in department stores looking for similarly-discontinued items. Wuddayathink?

Hey – it’s a TREAT! You lucky guy.

When you say it’s expensive – what are we talking? 20 bucks? More? I don’t have a good grasp of what things cost.

      I’m embarrassed to say…

It was $28.62 with tax. But in my defense, I got it in the name of science. And in the name of having something to post about.

I will still be searching for an acceptable (and less expensive) alternative.

$28 isn’t so bad. It is in the name of science and the internet, after all. I would have gasped at $40.

Love the name!! And it’s not a bad price for a department store product. You would feel so much better if I told you what I spent on my last set of face products.

    Here’s hoping Lab Series works…and don’t worry…I’m sure you’ll still look brilliant!
